Today I am really frustrated. My father's wife has always been really nosey. She spends time on the internet looking up the home appraisals of neighbors and friends, and googles names of people she knows to see what she can find out. The county website back home where I grew up allows visitors to search public records for all kinds of things such as arrests, legal affairs, traffic tickets, court cases, etc. One Christmas she was telling us about people at her church that she found all kinds of information on, which disturbed me. When I got back to California, I went on that website and was not able to find anything on myself, most likely because I had very few dealings with the county when I lived there. Then this morning I spoke with one of my brothers on the phone and he told me she had been calling people he had done business with to find out financial details, and opening mail addressed to he and his wife that would mistakenly come to the house. He also told me about things she had found out about me using the internet, that I was in an "un-christian" movie. I was so angry that she was checking up on me like that. She would have had to enter my name on Google and surf through several pages of entries before getting to that information. She's not even my mother and I have almost no relationship with her. Usually she stays quiet with what she has found out, and then when I come to visit we would all be sitting at the dinner table or relaxing in the living room and she would make some rude remark referring to something she found out. Then it all goes into some yay God diatribe that I generally tune out. If she was my mother, then I might be more inclined to show some respect and listen to her, but she's just obnoxious and out of line. She must believe she is going to save us by an intervention in our lives of sin. Well, my siblings and I are united in condemning her behavior and have asked our father to put a stop to it. This should be interesting. My brother said he is going to have his attorney control her if our father will not.
